Genetic Variability and Correlation Studies in Advance Families of Groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L)

Genetic variability is a major component which helps in selecting better genotypes under different environmental conditions. Thus, this study was conducted to understand the genetic and its components their trait associations of yield characters from cross GKVK-13 KCG-2 that contribute F6 F7 families. In an augmented block design with three checks, TMV-2, KCG-6, KCG-2, carried out at University Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, 2017 summer Kharif (rainy seasons). Highly significant differences between families were found analysis variance for all studied generations, indicating there enough variation. Furthermore, medium high Phenotypic coefficient variation Genotypic values coupled heritability advance as per cent mean observed most traits showed majority attributes controlled by additive gene activity adequate variability. addition, phenotypic correlation coefficients depicted positive studied. The implications results are discussed. concludes presence genes controlling early selection these possible groundnut improvement breeding programme.
